Text chat

• Available to everyone, signed in or not.
• No daily limit.
• Saved on the same device and browser, so you can come back to it.

Voice call

• Signed-in members only.
• Requires microphone permission from your browser.
• Subject to the daily limits described in the "Usage limits" article.

One important point

Speech from a call is not written into the chat. A call is audio and the chat is text; the only thing that crosses between them is a link when Sarah sends one.

During a call your existing chat stays visible, and a moving ribbon takes the place of the text field.
