Entering the Property Management Dashboard and a Tour of Its Sections
Before you start: activating the service
The Property Management dashboard does not appear until the service is activated. Activation is done from your profile → "Available Services" → "Property Management".
After activation you can enter the dashboard directly.
The statistics cards at the top
The first thing you see is a summary of your portfolio in cards:
- Total properties
- Total units
- Occupied units
- Vacant units
- Total tenants
- Active contracts
- Pending payments
- Overdue payments
- New maintenance requests
These figures are calculated from your data when the page opens. There is no live update that changes them in front of you; if you change something, reopen the page to see the new figure.
The ten sections in the sidebar
| Section | What it gives you |
|---|---|
| Dashboard | The summary and statistics |
| Properties | Your property list and each property's details |
| Units | The units of your properties and their status |
| Tenants | Who rents from you |
| Contracts | Lease contracts and their statuses |
| Payments | Dues and payments |
| Maintenance | Maintenance requests and their statuses |
| Accounting | Invoices, receipts, expenses and financial reports |
| Reports | Portfolio performance analysis and exporting |
| Settings | Business details, address and invoicing |
An important note for team members
If you are a team member rather than the account owner, not every section may appear. The sidebar shows only what you have permission to view.
If a section is missing for you, the usual reason is that the account owner has not granted you view permission for it — see Managing team member permissions.
And when you open a section as a member, you see the account owner's data, not your own; that is the whole point of working as a team.
If the dashboard is empty
- New account? That is expected — add your first property from the Properties section.
- You have properties in the Ejar platform but they do not appear? See Ejar platform data inside Property Management; it has specific behaviour worth understanding.
- Figures look stale? Reopen the page; the read happens when the page opens.
